I’ve been trying to answer the question in a post here for a while, but I thought that I should probably write a proper intro to answer the question. Freeview is the UK’s national Free-To-Air TV and radio broadcasting service that provides digital terrestrial TV and radio services to watch live TV and listen to radio stations on a wide selection of TV, radio, and digital devices.

It is widely known that Sky Sports is the best and most exciting sports channel in the UK. But for those of us who don’t have an antenna and only access to Freeview, it can be very frustrating not being able to enjoy all the excitement. Fortunately, there is an easy way to receive Sky Sports if you only have Freeview – just read our blog post!

How can I watch Sky Sports if I don’t subscribe to Sky TV and only have Freeview?

If you watch TV via Freeview and don’t have a subscription to Sky TV or broadband, you can watch Sky Sports on your TV with the Now TV Sports Pass.

For just £34.99, the Now TV Sports Pass gives you access to all 11 Sky Sports channels, live and on demand.

That’s less than the cost of a monthly subscription to a sports channel or service!

Are there free Sky Sports channels?

There are 11 in total, and they are all available in HD as well. These include the following: Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League, Sky Sports Football, Sky Sports Cricket, Sky Sports Golf, Sky Sports Formula One, Sky Sports NFL, Sky Sports Arena, Sky Sports News, Sky Sports Racing and Sky Sports Mix.

These last three Sky Sports channels are available for free as part of Sky’s basic package, so you don’t have to pay extra for them. They often broadcast sports documentaries, follow sports news, show horse racing and even broadcast live from around the world.

That said, it’s probably the best way to at least get free access to Sky Sports.

However, before you get too excited and start scrolling through the Freeview listings looking for these channels, we need to clarify something. By free, we mean that you must first become a Sky customer by paying for the basic package.

This simply means that you won’t have to pay extra for these three sports channels, unlike the usual package price for other Sky Sports channels.

Unfortunately, this means it is not available to Freeview users. Sky Sports News was once included in Freeview, but was replaced by Sky 3+1 in 2010 following a controversial decision. It has not been published since.

In addition to these 11 channels, there is a 12th channel. Channel dedicated to film screenings.

It’s called Sky Sports Box Office. This channel is a separate entity where you pay to fight in big battles like. B. to see high-level MMA fights.

Even if you pay for the full Sky Sports package, you have to pay extra to watch the Box Office channel.

As you may have guessed, Sky Sports is behind the wall because it’s a subscription service.

You can buy it as an add-on to your basic Sky package for an additional monthly fee, which will be added to your existing account. This amount is usually paid monthly via a direct debit agreement on a contractual basis (usually for about 2 years, but the timing can vary).

Sky in general, and the Sky Sports Channel package in particular, is far from cheap, and it’s a pretty big luxury only available to those who can afford it.

As mentioned earlier, there are many different Sky Sports channels, each broadcasting different sports. These include football, rugby, cricket, motor sports, golf, darts, MMA (mixed martial arts) and boxing, among many other sports.

They also regularly broadcast sporting events from around the world, such as. B. American football and soccer games. This means that the Sky Sports package attracts a lot of people.

After all, we are a country of sports fanatics. That’s why there are often promotions where you can buy the whole Sky Sports package for a month (or even several months) at a discount, or get a discount if you add it to your existing Sky package.

Of course, as a Freeview subscriber, this won’t benefit you, but it’s worth keeping in mind in case you want to upgrade to the full package for permanent access in the future.

We say this because a Freeview user will never have free access to the full suite of Sky Sports channels.

Sure, you can sometimes get access to a limited amount of content (more on that later), but generally Sky keeps its Sky Sports channels firmly and securely hidden behind a pay wall.

If you absolutely want full access to all channels, we recommend spending a little more money and buying the program per month.

What you can’t do, at least for now, is choose one, two or more sports channels you want to pay for. For example, you may only be interested in Sky Sports Cricket, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports NFL. This means the rest will be useless.

In an ideal world, you would want to pay for the channels you use. That’s not the case.

You can’t get a discount because you only need a few Sky Sports channels. Unfortunately, you have to pay a high price to get access to all these elements.

However, as we wrote earlier in this article, there have been instances where Freeview users have received material.

It may not surprise you (or maybe it does) that football is one of the most popular sports broadcast on Sky Sports. No, we’re not talking about American football, of course! It’s none other than everyone’s favourite ball game, football (sorry Brits, don’t speak for us!).

Football and sports jokes aside, what we’re trying to get across is that football is very popular, especially the big games like the Premier League.

In this regard, there have been instances where some Premier League matches have been open to all, not just season ticket holders.

The Premier League hasn’t always been seen only on Sky Sports. It has been on the BBC and ITV in the past, meaning Freeview users can see it. However, changes in recent years have meant that most Premier League matches remain hidden behind the walls of the Sky Sports pay channel.

Fortunately, a deal has been struck for the 2019/2020 season whereby Sky Sports will broadcast its share of the matches for free.

Sky still had 62 of the 92 games, all available to Freeview users without having to pay.

To watch these matches, viewers simply had to go to Pick TV (also known as Sky Pick) at the time the match was played, and they could watch it at the same time as paying customers.

It was revolutionary and allowed the British public to watch their favourite teams without having to pay an expensive monthly subscription. Sure it’s over now, but it’s worth checking in the future to see if they do it again.
