Apex Legends has arrived, and it’s a game unlike anything you’ve ever played. It’s not just a game for big fans of the studio behind it, it’s a game for anyone who wants to explore the battle royale genre and new types of shooters. It might not be for everyone, but if you’re looking for a refreshing change of pace from the high pulse-pounding action of Fortnite, Apex Legends could be exactly what you’re looking for.
The Celebrity Apex departs on Saturday the 19th. June 2021, from Athens, Greece, for her maiden voyage.
The 3,400-passenger ship, Celebrity’s second Edge-class vessel, has made history by becoming the first ship to be delivered virtually at the end of March 2020.
After the ship’s debut in Southampton in April 2020 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Celebrity hoped to have it debut in Fort Lauderdale in October 2020.
On Saturday, the ship finally welcomed its first passengers, a sentimental moment for captain Dimitrios Kafetzis.

Today is a very proud day for me that I will never forget. I’m not only going back to sea, but I’m doing it in my own country and with an incredible team. I was born and raised here in Piraeus, less than a kilometre from our home port of Athens, and since childhood I have dreamed of being at the helm of a ship on this coast. It is an honor to be the captain of Celebrity’s newest flagship and welcome our first guests on board, he said.
The ship sailed with a fully vaccinated crew and at least 95% of the guests were fully vaccinated. The first Celebrity Apex cruise will call at Rhodes, Mykonos and Santorini in Greece and Limassol in Cyprus.
Like her Edge-class sister ship, Celebrity Apex features the fabulous Magic Carpet, a multi-purpose platform that rises and falls along the ship, from the bar to the restaurant or from the dock to the tender, depending on the time of day.
Celebrity Apex features 29 restaurants, bars and lounges, including the fleet’s first craft social bar, with specially selected menus based on the ship’s ports of call. Passenger favorites like Le Petit Chef Experience at Le Grand Bistro, Raw on 5 and four main dining rooms return, each with a different menu.
When it comes to entertainment, Celebrity Apex boasts Eden, a unique immersive space like no other cruise ship. The theater will present three shows in full production, including Rockumentary, an epic retrospective of rock ‘n’ roll history, and Tree of Life, a journey through the seasons using vignettes.
The ship will sail from Athens until early October 2021, when it will transfer to Fort Lauderdale for the Caribbean winter season.
